Floral prints, polka dots, and border prints in geranium red, sapphire blue, and candy pink add romantic touches. In 1954, Mademoiselle Coco Chanel made an impact with her straight-cut suit, which became a modern classic, still alive today.
During this period, Christian Dior promoted the casual H-Line. By the end of the Fifties, the more casual line had taken hold, as exemplified by sheath dresses and the Deux pieces - a dress with matching jacket.
